Find your first EV
Tell us what matters to you and we'll show the three EVs that fit best, with the reasoning. Built for first-time buyers. Nothing you enter is saved.
Where the numbers come from: EPA range and efficiency ratings, manufacturers' own spec pages, and AAA and Recurrent winter-range studies. Every car shows the date it was checked. Data last updated monthly. How we calculate

These rule cars out rather than scoring them. Apart from price, a car is never ruled out by a spec we haven't checked for it.
Off by default, so every car shown has a checked price and your budget always holds. Turn it on to see more models; unpriced cars score neutral on price and ignore your budget.

- Range, efficiency, body style, drive and overnight charge time come from the EPA's published vehicle data, for every current EV.
- Price, fast-charging speed, seats, cargo, towing, plug type and dashboard controls are entered by hand from each manufacturer's own page, with the page and date recorded. EPA publishes none of them, and aggregator sites disagree: one search for a single car's starting price returned four different figures. A car whose field is blank is labelled "not checked yet" rather than guessed at.
- Reliability is a 1-to-5 judgment recorded here with its reasoning and a link, not a rating copied from anyone. Consumer Reports and J.D. Power own their ratings; we don't republish them. Free federal complaint and recall records are at NHTSA.
- Winter range uses AAA's cold-weather testing and Recurrent's real-world study.
